Introduction
KANITA WASHINGTON
Kanita Washington is a dynamic minister, acclaimed recording artist, playwright, director, and visionary leader whose voice carries healing, clarity, and divine purpose. A native of Washington, D.C., Kanita has spent more than twenty years transforming lives through ministry, music, theater, and the arts.
Known widely as The Goddess of Life, Kanita embodies the power to speak life, give life, and rebuild life from the inside out. Her message, music, and presence carry a transformational anointing that awakens purpose and restores identity in every space she enters.
With more than twelve years of experience as a playwright and director, Kanita has produced thirteen dynamic stage productions across the Baltimore region—each infused with themes of faith, resilience, and personal transformation. Her artistic journey led her from writing and directing to starring in multiple gospel stage plays, where she embraced her calling as both actress and messenger.
As a gospel and inspirational singer, Kanita has shared platforms with musical greats including Joyce Garrett, Professor Wilbur Belton, and John Hart & The Ministry Chorale. A defining moment in her early career was singing “Man in the Mirror” as a duet with the late Michael Jackson during the first anniversary memorial of the 9/11 tragedy.
Now stepping into a bold new sound, Kanita introduces her upcoming project Fulfillment, a fusion of gospel, soul, purpose-driven artistry, and the sacred symbolism of the Ankh—representing life, divine awakening, and spiritual rebirth. Her voice and prophetic flow continue to unify cultures, awaken hearts, and inspire transformation around the world.
